STUDENTS TRAVELING ABROAD
If a crisis or emergency situation should occur while you are out of the country, use common sense and follow the directions of the emergency officials on the scene.
At the first opportunity, a Rose-Hulman student or representative should contact Rose-Hulman Public Safety at 1-812-877-8590. Every country has a unique access code to make international calls. Be sure to use the appropriate one for your location.
Tell the dispatcher who you are, what program you are with, and where you are calling from. If you are calling during regular business hours, the dispatcher may transfer you to the Director of Public Safety or his designee. Give the dispatcher or the director as much information as possible, including any specific actions you need Rose-Hulman to take on your behalf.
Before hanging up, arrange a follow-up call within the hour.
